Where to keep a yacht in Amalfi Coast & Capri
Dockage on this run concentrates at the two ends. At Castellammare di Stabia, Marina di Stabia is the full-service base — VHF 69, 24-hour mooring assistance, shore power from 16 to 400 A, a Port of Entry service, a shipyard and a fuel dock — though its own two pages disagree on its size (789 berths and superyachts to 295 ft/90 m on the homepage; 700 berths and 164 ft/50 m on its il-porto page), so call with your specs. Porto Davide Marina Resort shares the same bay with 200-plus berths on new pontoons to 82 ft (25 m). At the Salerno end, Marina d'Arechi is the numbers leader: 1,000 berths from 33 to 328 ft (10 to 100 m), 26 ft (8 m) at the entry, VHF 74. In the middle, Capri's Porto Turistico (300 berths, 197 ft/60 m, VHF 71) and Amalfi's Pontile Marina Coppola (to 115 ft/35 m, 220V/380V power) do the mid-run work. Positano has no officially documented berthing — no marina, no published operator — and the boat-to-lunch culture there runs on tenders, shuttles and the pier instead. Cruising from Amalfi Coast & Capri
The run. The coast rounds the Sorrento Peninsula between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, on the Tyrrhenian side of the Mediterranean — and the governing fact of the middle leg is the Area Marina Protetta Punta Campanella, which wraps the tip of the peninsula and writes the anchoring rules from Sorrento's side around to the Positano approaches.
Punta Campanella's zones. In Zone B, anchoring is prohibited entirely and navigation within 300 m of shore is capped at 5 knots; mooring is allowed only at designated, equipped sites with authorization. In Zone C, anchoring is permitted from 08:00 to 20:00, at 100 m off the beaches and 50 m off the sheer coast — with the Posidonia seagrass meadows and coralline seabed excluded outright. Zone A is closed to unauthorized navigation. The park published a supplementary Disciplinare integrativo dated 8 June 2026 — read it before the run.
The red zones and Ieranto. Vervece and Vetara are full no-entry zones — the Vervece reef is ringed by four large yellow marker buoys. Ieranto Bay, the amphitheater under Punta Campanella itself, allows no motorized entry and no anchoring, protecting a large Posidonia meadow.
Li Galli and Crapolla. The islets off Positano and the Crapolla cove are Yellow Zones carrying the park's anchoring ban, and Li Galli is private property — no going ashore. Admire the archipelago from the wheel.
Le Mortelle — the sanctioned mooring. The park's own eco-mooring field off Marina del Cantone is the one sanctioned overnight-style stop on the protected stretch: 35 buoys, 29 of them Manta Ray seabed-anchor type, taking boats from under 33 ft (10 m) up to 49–79 ft (15–24 m) for non-residents, paid only through the park's Blue Discovery app at 5 to 30 euro per hour depending on size and day. It is a summer operation — the park reopened it for the season on 22 June 2024.
Conca dei Marini. The Grotta dello Smeraldo cove is the scenery leg between Positano and Amalfi; the comune publishes no sea-access rules or visitor figures, so confirm arrangements locally before planning a stop.

If boat-to-lunch is the point of ownership, there is nowhere better: the famous tables here publish their own buoys, coordinates and tender schedules, and real marinas with published figures bracket the run at Capri, Castellammare and Salerno. The trade-offs are real — August berths at Capri go early, the Punta Campanella park writes strict anchoring rules through the middle leg, and Positano is a tender stop, not a marina. Is there a marina in Positano?
No — Positano has no officially documented berthing: neither the comune's site nor any official operator page publishes a marina, berths or moorings there. The boat culture runs on tenders and the pier instead: Da Adolfo's own gozzo, marked by a red wooden fish on the mast, collects diners from the pier between 10:00 and 13:00, free for restaurant guests. Offshore, the Li Galli islets carry the Punta Campanella park's anchoring ban, and the park's sanctioned buoy field at Le Mortelle lies back toward Marina del Cantone.

Yes — both clubs at the stacks state their own boat access. La Fontelina publishes its mooring coordinates (40° 32' 36'' N, 14° 15' 00'' E) and works VHF channel 10, with a taxi boat from Marina Piccola at EUR 40 for up to four people; its 2026 season runs 18 April to 11 October. Da Luigi ai Faraglioni, directly opposite, invites you to moor at one of its buoys offshore and let its tender bring you to the beach club, with EUR 10-per-person transfers from Marina Piccola as the alternative.
