Tony Smith, CEO and Senior Broker at Minted Yachts

Tony Smith, CEO & Senior Broker

(404) 805-9819ts@mintedyachts.com

Tony grew up boating on Lake Michigan, spending summer weekends waterskiing and exploring the Great Lakes. After graduating from Purdue University as an electrical engineer, he went into boating more seriously, following his desire to cruise on the open ocean.

Tony now focuses on luxury catamarans, motor yachts, and mega yachts. As such, Tony is a regular at the Cannes and Monaco Yacht Shows.

Primarily representing VIP buyers, Tony is very skilled in helping clients define their mission and selecting the correct yacht. As a 100 Ton Master Captain and previously owning two charter yacht companies, he can advise on the pros & cons of chartering your vessel.

You can follow the search in public: Tony films yacht walkthroughs and reviews on the Minted Yachts YouTube channel — from the Fort Lauderdale docks to Cannes and Monaco — and shares the daily life of a working yacht broker on Instagram as @flyachtpro.

John Gregoriou, Broker at Minted Yachts

You may already know Johnny as John Yachtie — real boats, real tours, real talk. His lighthearted dockside commentary on the superyachts of Fort Lauderdale, and the people who own them, has built an audience that knows and trusts him long before anyone calls about a boat.

As a broker, Johnny is practical and market-driven: pricing, negotiation, and acquisition strategy with a focus on saving buyers from expensive mistakes. Before brokerage, he spent years inside luxury markets learning how high-value assets are positioned, evaluated, and sold — and that lens now shapes how he reads listings, market cycles, and buyer behavior.

Direct, detail-oriented, and ocean-centric, Johnny brings clarity to a process that's often overcomplicated and helps clients move forward with confidence.

Who is Minted Yachts?

Minted Yachts is a boutique yacht brokerage based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and a member of the International Yacht Brokers Association. We represent buyers and sellers of premium boats and yachts — from center consoles to superyachts — and we publish the spec-verified reviews, series guides, and buyer resources you'll find across this site.

  • Specifications are verified, never guessed. Every figure we publish traces to the builder's own numbers — our editorial standards explain how.
  • Buyer-first advice. Our reviews say what a model does poorly, not just what it does well, because you'll live with both.
  • A public track record. We put our opinions on camera, under our own names, on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram — so you can judge how we think before you ever reach out.

What happens when you reach out

  1. Tell us your mission

The form on this page, a call, or an email — where you'll cruise, who's usually aboard, and the range you're working with. That's enough to start.

  2. We shortlist and verify

You get a short list of models that actually fit the mission, with specifications verified against the builder's own numbers — the same standard behind every review on this site.

  3. Step aboard

Showings and sea trials, with honest talk about each boat's trade-offs before anyone talks numbers.

  4. Negotiate, survey, close

We handle the offer, the survey and sea-trial contingencies, and the title and documentation work — so nothing about closing day is a surprise.

  5. Beyond the closing

Ownership questions, charter guidance drawn from Tony's years running charter operations, and — when the time comes — help selling and stepping up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which broker should I contact?

Either — one message reaches both, and the right broker answers. Tony Smith works with motor yacht, catamaran and superyacht buyers, and covers the Cannes and Monaco shows. John Gregoriou covers center consoles, dayboats and sportfishing boats. If you're not sure where your boat falls, send the form and we'll sort it out.

Does it cost anything to work with a buyer's broker?

In a typical brokerage sale the commission is paid from the seller's side at closing, so having Minted Yachts represent you as a buyer normally costs you nothing out of pocket. We explain exactly how we're compensated before you commit to anything.

Can Minted Yachts sell my boat or yacht?

Yes. We list and sell brokerage vessels with the same standard we apply to reviews: verified specifications, professional photography and video, and honest positioning. Your listing also reaches the audience that follows our reviews on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram — buyers most listings never get in front of.

How quickly will I hear back?

Within 24 hours, and usually much sooner. Enquiries from this page go straight to Tony and Johnny's phones, not into a queue. If it's time-sensitive, call (404) 805-9819 directly.

Where does Minted Yachts operate?

We're based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and represent buyers and sellers across the United States and internationally. Tony attends the Cannes and Monaco yacht shows, and much of our work — showings, surveys, sea trials — happens throughout South Florida and beyond.

I'm buying my first boat. Will you work with me?

Yes — first-time buyers are a big part of why this site exists. The reviews, series guides and buyer resources here are written so you can walk into a showing already knowing the honest trade-offs. We'll tell you when a boat is wrong for you; that's the point of having a broker on your side.
