Our Take
Steel is a choice at this length, not a default, and it is the first thing to understand about the 45M. Benetti went to a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure and 430 tons at full load, against the 37M's 230, and the rest of the specification follows from that: the 8-foot draft, the 4,100 nautical miles the yard publishes at 10 knots, and the fact that the twin MAN V12-1400 package is the same pairing the much lighter 37M carries. On a displacement hull of this weight that is a passage-making installation, and the shared engine tells you plainly what each of the two boats is being asked to do.
The 45M has not been delivered. Every image Benetti has published is a rendering, which cuts both ways: you cannot walk one, and you can still have a hand in the specification. The yard names three decks - the Veranda Deck, an Observation Deck above it and a Sun Deck above that - and the Veranda Deck is the model's signature. Benetti has not detailed how it works, so do not let anyone tell you they know. Ask to see it in the general arrangement and on the model before you make it the reason you are buying.
Read the crew number as a specification. Nine crew in five cabins against ten guests in five is not the 37M's seven rounded up; it is the complement of a boat expected to move, keep guests aboard while it does, and arrive ready to go again. If your plan is one mooring for the summer, this is more boat and more program than that plan needs, and the 37M is the same idea 25 feet shorter with a shallower draft. Decide which of the two you are honestly buying, then put draft, as-built weights and observed fuel burn at your intended cruise into the build specification in writing.

The Motopanfilo 45M measures 146'2" overall on a 29'10" beam and an 8'0" draft, displacing 430 tons at full load. Construction is steel with an aluminium superstructure — what Benetti builds when range and volume matter more than speed.
Naval architecture is Pierluigi Ausonio's, the exterior concept comes from Benetti's R&D department with Ausonio and RWD, and the interiors are by Lazzarini & Pickering Architetti.
Performance & Handling
Benetti publishes 4,100 nautical miles of range at 10 knots — 300 miles further than the 37M, on a hull 25 feet longer and close to twice the full-load displacement.
Power is the same twin MAN V12-1400 package the 37M carries, 1,400 hp a side. On a steel displacement hull of this weight that is a passage-making installation, not a sprinting one.
Interior & Accommodations
Five guest cabins sleep ten, with seven heads, and nine crew are berthed in five cabins. The master suite runs to more than 60 square metres.
The Veranda Deck® is the model's signature feature, with an Observation Deck and a Sun Deck above it. Nine crew in five cabins is a full ocean-going complement rather than a coastal one.
Market Position
Within the Motopanfilo line the 45M is the 146-foot hull, above the 121-foot 37M, and it is built in steel rather than GRP — different construction for a different job, under the same profile.
Against the B.YOND 40M at 130'11", both are steel and both are drawn for range; the Motopanfilo answers with the classic silhouette where B.YOND answers with hybrid propulsion.

Buy the 45M if you want the classic Motopanfilo profile with steel underneath it — an owner planning long passages with ten guests aboard and nine crew running the boat.
The 37M is the same idea 25 feet shorter in GRP, with a shallower 6'5" draft; the B.YOND 40M is the step across when range and a hybrid drive matter more than the traditional profile.
