The SP92 is Sanlorenzo's answer to the fast-yacht segment, and it takes a different route to the same place. Where the obvious competitors chase maximum speed with maximum horsepower and aggressive styling, the Smart Performance line goes after the same numbers with less brute force: waterjet propulsion, dynamic trim control, lightweight composites and — the yard's own detail, and an unusual one — integrated solar panels.
Sanlorenzo publishes two packages and a speed for each. Twin MAN V12 at 2,000 horsepower gives 38 knots; the 2,200-horsepower version gives 40. Two knots for the upgrade, which is honest of them to print. The waterjets are the more interesting decision. They change how the boat handles at low speed, they change what is under the hull, and they change the maintenance conversation entirely — different intervals, different specialists, different failure modes from shafts and props.
One correction worth making plainly: the shallow draft that gets quoted for this boat is not Sanlorenzo's figure. The yard publishes no draft for the SP92 or for anything else it builds. Waterjets do generally allow a shallower installation, and that may well be a real advantage here — but if the anchorages you have in mind depend on it, get the number from the build specification in writing before you plan around it.
