Ibiza and Formentera are a single market for an owner — the Port of Eivissa berths yachts to 312 ft (95 m) at Marina Ibiza and to 492 ft (150 m) across IGY Ibiza Marina's 27 superyacht berths, and La Savina, Formentera's only port, holds the other end of the run with berths to 115 ft (35 m).

What keeps this market honest is the rulebook. The Balearic Posidonia decree prohibits anchoring over the seagrass meadows outright, and the answer is buoys: three regulated fields in the Pitiusas — Ses Salines, s'Espalmador and Es Caló de s'Oli — reserved at reservas.portsib.es. Where to keep a yacht in Ibiza & Formentera
Berthing sorts by harbor. The Port of Eivissa is the deep-water hub: Marina Ibiza runs from 26 ft (8 m) to 312 ft (95 m) with berthside superyacht fuelling, IGY Ibiza Marina takes 27 yachts from 66 to 492 ft (20 to 150 m) stern-to (Med-moor) at the foot of Dalt Vila, Marina Port Ibiza holds 89 berths to 197 ft (60 m) with shore power to 400 amps, and Botafoc Ibiza adds 430 moorings from 20 to 98 ft (6 to 30 m). The state harbor around them — run by Ports de Balears — enters facing southeast, 722 ft (220 m) wide and 28 ft (8.5 m) deep at lowest tide. The east coast belongs to Marina Santa Eulalia, 20 to 72 ft (6 to 22 m) and the island's only marina-with-yard on that shore; the west to Sant Antoni, where Ports IB's transit berths run to 49 ft (15 m) and Es Nàutic's 578 moorings to 164 ft (50 m). Cruising from Ibiza & Formentera
The harbors. The Port of Eivissa sits on the island's southeast, 1 km from the city center — a southeast-facing entrance 722 ft (220 m) wide with 28 ft (8.5 m) at lowest tide, 12,455 ft (3,796 m) of berthing line across its basins, and a maximum tidal range of 2.6 ft (0.80 m). La Savina, Formentera's only port, faces northeast: a 492 ft (150 m) entrance carrying 16 ft (5 m) at lowest tide, with town 0.1 km from the quay. Both are state ports of Ports de Balears; the marinas inside them are concessions.
The Posidonia regime — learn it first. Balearic Decree 25/2018 prohibits anchoring over Posidonia oceanica as a general rule across the islands. In the regulated buoy fields the rule is explicit: moor to the buoy, never drop the anchor. The Pitiusas hold three of the Govern's regulated fields — Platja de Ses Salines on Ibiza, Badia de s'Alga at s'Espalmador, and Es Caló de s'Oli on Formentera — with buoys sized for yachts from 26 to 82 ft (8 to 25 m) LOA, a June 1 to September 30 season extendable to October 15, and reservations through reservas.portsib.es.
The park. The waters between the islands' facing tips lie inside the Parc Natural de Ses Salines d'Eivissa i Formentera — 14,028 marine hectares whose Posidonia meadows were declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1999. Park rule: anchor only on sand, never on the meadows. At s'Espalmador, anchoring is limited to the designated zones, landing to the marked channels, and overnight anchoring requires authorization via caib.es.
The Formentera run. This is the day the market is built on: out of the Eivissa breakwaters, across to s'Espalmador's buoy field or straight down to Ses Illetes — the beach on the Es Trucadors peninsula with more than 1,476 ft (450 m) of sand in two parts — lunch off the hook, and home with the light behind you. The tender does the last hundred yards; two of the beach restaurants will even do it for you.
The west and the season. Sant Antoni bay is the west-coast base: Es Nàutic berths to 164 ft (50 m) on 16 ft (5 m) of draught and lays 71 environmentally-friendly mooring buoys May through September. IGY currently restricts reservations for yachts under 66 ft (20 m) — in season, the Port of Eivissa prioritizes its superyacht trade, and August berths across both islands go early. Plan the calendar the way you plan the passage.
