The FD80 is one of the better-executed boats in the 75 to 85-foot segment. Horizon has been refining this fast-displacement platform for years, and it shows in the details. The hull form is efficient without being sluggish. The systems are accessible. The finish quality is consistent across hulls, which matters when you are looking at brokerage inventory. The on-deck master is a genuine differentiator. Most builders in this size range still put the owner below deck. Horizon moved it up, added the glass, and created a stateroom that feels like it belongs on a 100-footer.
This boat is for the experienced owner who knows what they want and does not need hand-holding. If you have owned a 55 or 60-footer and are ready to step up, the FD80 gives you the space and range to expand your cruising grounds without forcing you into a full-time crew model. It is not for the buyer who wants to impress at the dock. The styling is contemporary but understated.
