Ferretti built the Infynito 80 for people who cruise in April and November, not just July. The covered terrace is the headline feature, but the real story is the semi-displacement hull and solar integration. This is a yacht designed for efficiency and comfort over long passages, not weekend sprints to Bimini. The build quality is consistent with Ferretti's track record. Fit and finish are excellent. Systems are accessible and well-documented. The V8 engine package is the smarter choice unless you're regularly running 300-mile legs.
This boat makes sense for owners transitioning from 60-footers who want more space without jumping to full-time crew. The layout supports both owner-operator and captain-assisted use. The four guest cabins plus crew quarters give you flexibility. The galley-down configuration keeps service discreet. If you're comparing this to a Sunseeker 88 or Azimut Grande 27 Metri, understand the trade. Those boats are faster and more aggressive. The Infynito 80 is quieter, more efficient, and designed for people who spend 100 nights aboard instead of 20.
Resale on Ferretti models in this size range has been stable, but the Infynito line is new. Expect standard depreciation curves: 10 to 15 percent in year one, then 5 to 7 percent annually. Operating costs will run $400,000 to $500,000 per year with full-time crew, or $250,000 to $300,000 if you're owner-operating with fractional captain support. The solar system and efficient hull will reduce fuel costs compared to planing competitors, but this is still an expensive boat to run. They are the same size and answer opposite questions. The 800 is 80'3", does 31 knots and carries three crew; the INFYNITO 80 is 77'9", does 22 knots and carries two.
Buy the 800 if you cover distance and want a crewed flybridge yacht. Buy the INFYNITO 80 if you have admitted that most of your time is spent at anchor and you want covered outdoor space you can use in any weather. Shopping them on price alone will lead you wrong.

It carries four guest cabins and two crew, along with 2,113 US gallons of fuel and 317 gallons of water — considerably more fuel than a flybridge Ferretti of similar length.
It carries Ferretti's F.S.E.A. architecture — Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture — which includes a lithium-battery Hotel Mode for silent, zero-emission time at anchor, photovoltaic panels, and sustainable teak and recycled fabrics through the interior.
That is not hybrid propulsion in the sense of driving the boat on batteries. It is hotel load: lights, air conditioning and systems running without a generator, which is what actually determines whether a night at anchor is quiet.
It is a covered bow living space that replaces the open flybridge, which Ferretti describes as "an oasis for owners and guests to enjoy absolute relaxation and wellbeing." Being covered, it works in sun, wind or rain rather than for the handful of months an exposed deck is pleasant.
That is the organising idea of the whole INFYNITO line. If you already know you spend most of your time at anchor rather than under way, it is the single feature worth changing boats for.
The INFYNITO 80 makes 22 knots flat out with the optional MAN V12 1400s and cruises at 17. On the standard MAN V8 1200s it is 20 knots with a 15-knot cruise.
That is deliberately slower than Ferretti's flybridge hulls, which run 28 to 32 knots. The INFYNITO line trades speed for fuel, shade and time at anchor — 2,113 US gallons aboard and a covered terrace instead of an open flybridge.
