Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ferretti 940 a new model?

Yes, the 940 is one of three models Ferretti currently flags as new in its Flybridge range, alongside the 720 and the 800.

It slots between the 860 and the flagship 1000, and it is the first point in the range where the owner's suite moves up to the main deck — a structural decision rather than a layout option.

Ferretti 940 vs 1000: what is the difference?

Four feet, one crew berth and where you sleep. The 1000 is 98'10" with five guest cabins and three crew and puts the owner's suite below; the 940 is 95'1" with five cabins, two crew and a main-deck master.

The 1000 is also faster — 28 knots on the optional MTUs against the 940's 27 — and carries the same 2,378 gallons of fuel. If the main-deck suite is what you want, the smaller boat is the one that has it.

How fast is the Ferretti 940?

The Ferretti 940 reaches 27 knots with the optional MAN V12X 2200s and cruises at 23. On the standard MAN V12 2000s it makes 25 knots with a 21-knot cruise.

That is slower than the 860 below it at 31.5 knots, and deliberately so. The 940 is a widebody hull carrying a main-deck owner's suite and 85 tonnes unladen; the speed is what pays for the volume.

How big is the Ferretti 940?

95 feet 1 inch (28.97 m) LOA on a 22'2" (6.76 m) beam, drawing 7'7" (2.30 m). Unladen displacement is 85,000 kg (187,393 lbs), rising to 98,000 kg laden, and it is rated for 20 people aboard.

That 7'7" draft is the deepest in the Ferretti Yachts range — worth checking against your home marina and your Bahamas plans before anything else.

Does the Ferretti 940 have a main-deck master?

Yes — the owner's suite sits on the main deck rather than below, which is the defining feature of the 940 and the reason to choose it over the 860.

A main-deck master means full-height windows, direct sightlines to the water and no stairs between your cabin and the salon. Five guest cabins sit below, with two crew. It is the layout buyers usually have to go well past 100 feet to find.
