The cockpit is the product
Nothing back there is structural furniture. The pieces move, so one afternoon it is six people at a long lunch and the next it is a crowd standing with the seating turned outward. The side gunwales open to the water, which drops the sea to eye level from a seated position rather than leaving it over a rail. Glazed balustrades toward the stern mean none of those arrangements loses the view.
That continues forward. In the saloon, large side windows envelop the whole deck and meet a panoramic windshield, so the view runs unbroken rather than framed. Those side windows open electrically, and on a mild evening they do the work the air conditioning would otherwise do.
Light overhead, quiet at anchor

Below deck there are three cabins with high ceilings. Three separate doors at 49 feet is the thing a family notices before anything else on the sheet, and the headroom is what stops the arrangement feeling like a compromise made to reach the number.
Fresh water is 140 gallons. With three cabins occupied that is the figure that decides how long you can stay out between pump-outs, and it is worth planning around before the fuel is.
Handling, and what to settle at sea trial
Absolute specifies twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 pod drives, joystick control included. On a 49-foot boat with a 14' 10" beam that is the difference between a two-person docking and a one-person docking, and it is the reason this is realistically an owner-driven boat rather than one you keep a captain for.

Coupé or flybridge
The 48 Coupé is the whole of Absolute's Coupé line, and it sits deliberately alongside the Flybridge and Navetta ranges rather than beneath them. It shares the 47 FLY's 14' 10" beam, 423-gallon fuel capacity, 140-gallon water capacity and D6-IPS650 package, and spends the difference on deck plan rather than on a second helm station.
That makes the choice unusually clean. The flybridge boat gives you a top deck, a barbecue station and a sunpad beside the helm. The coupé gives you a solar roof, opening gunwales, an unobstructed cockpit and a lower profile that matters on an inland run with bridges — and it is eleven inches longer overall, not a size down.
Where else to look
