Our Take
I spend a lot of these write-ups explaining what a builder has chosen not to tell you. Not this one. The SLX 360 Outboard publishes a cruising speed, a top speed, and a range at both — 238 miles at 35 to 38 mph, 178 miles flat out. That is four honest numbers where most of this segment gives you nothing, and it changes the conversation. You can plan a run to the islands off the builder's own arithmetic instead of somebody's guess.
The boat behind the numbers is a serious piece of engineering. Triple 300 Verados, joystick piloting with e-Steering, gyro stabilisation, Pro Control auto-levelling trim, and Fathom e-Power in place of a generator — a lithium pack that runs the accessory systems for about eight hours without a diesel running behind your head at anchor. That last one is the feature I would actually pay for. Silence at anchor is worth more than five more miles an hour at the top end.
Two things to hold onto. First, the boat carries a V-berth cabin — you can see it on the option list, with cabin air conditioning and a berth TV — but Sea Ray publishes no berth count, no head description and no "sleeps" figure for it. Treat it as a day boat that can absorb a night, not a weekender. Second, Sea Ray's own page calls it a 36-foot dayboat while its specification block says 38'1". Believe the specification block. That is the number the slip is measured against.

Note that the published range figures are for the standard triple 300 package.
Is the Sea Ray SLX 360 Outboard 36 feet or 38 feet?
Thirty-eight. Sea Ray's specification block gives a Length Overall of 38 feet 1 inch, while the descriptive copy on the same page calls it a 36-foot dayboat. The specification figure is the one to use — it is what your marina will measure the slip against and what the insurance schedule will reference. The model name follows Sea Ray's SLX numbering convention rather than the length, the same way the SLX 310 is 31 feet 6 inches and the SLX 400 Outboard is 42 feet 2 inches.
What is Fathom e-Power on the SLX 360 Outboard?
It is a lithium-ion battery system that replaces the generator. A Mastervolt pack of four high-capacity marinised batteries runs the boat's accessory systems for roughly eight hours on a full charge under typical loads, without needing shore power or the engines running, and a touchscreen interface shows consumption and charge levels. The practical benefit is silence and simplicity at anchor: no generator noise behind the conversation, no generator service intervals, no generator hours accumulating. Battery life varies with what you are actually running.
