There are two Sunseeker flybridges in the current range with identical specification sheets. Not similar. Identical, row for row, on every published figure. The Manhattan 55 and the Manhattan 56 share a length overall of 56' 6", a beam of 16' 0", a draft of 4' 6", a half-load displacement of 59,524 lbs, 580 US gallons of fuel, 158 US gallons of water, three cabins, two heads, a maximum of up to 32 knots and a cruise of 25 knots.
That is not a mistake in the data. Sunseeker's own copy for the 56 refers to a proven hull platform, which is the yard confirming what the numbers already say.
So the honest question about the Manhattan 56 is not how much bigger or faster it is than the 55. It is not either. The question is what the 2026 programme actually gets you, and whether that is what you want to buy.
What changed above the waterline
Start with the profile. Sunseeker gave the 56 a cleaner, lower-shouldered silhouette for 2026, and the change you will notice standing on the dock is the glazing. Main-deck glass now runs uninterrupted along the side rather than being broken into panels. Inside, that is a different saloon to sit in even though the volume is the same.
The aft cockpit was rebuilt rather than refreshed. It is now arranged around modular seating that reconfigures between a dining setup, a lounging arrangement and a full-beam sunpad, and it opens aft onto the bathing platform and Beach Club. This is a genuine improvement if you will use it. It is also the single feature most worth testing in person, because modular furniture only earns its keep with an owner who will actually move it. Ask to see all three configurations set up, and time how long it takes the two of you to change between them.
This is also the first Sunseeker to carry the yard's new exterior upholstery collection, with the tailoring, piping and stitch detailing called out specifically in the yard's own description. On a boat that lives outdoors in Florida sun, upholstery quality is not a cosmetic detail.
What changed below
The galley sits on the main deck. That is not new, but it is the decision that makes everything below work, because it frees the volume for three properly proportioned cabins instead of two and an apology.
The headline down there is a full-beam master with full-height headroom around a curved king-size berth. To starboard, the owner can specify a chaise lounge, a breakfast table or extra stowage. The en suite gets recessed lighting and real stowage volume. A full-beam master with standing headroom throughout, at 56' 6", is not something every builder gives you at this length, and it is the strongest single argument for this boat.
The interior programme is the latest Sunseeker Interiors Collection, which the yard describes as drawing on modern apartment living: minimalist forms, warm natural finishes, tactile textures, in place of traditional yacht styling. Some buyers love it and some miss the older, more furnished look. That is a taste question and you should answer it by standing in both boats rather than by looking at renderings.
Engines and drivetrain
Total output on this boat is 1,600 PS, which is twin 800s under either designation.
Pin the rest of it to the hull rather than to the model. Get the engine make, model and serial numbers written into your offer, and confirm them against the plates in the engine room during survey. Do not accept a brochure as the source, and do not assume an early hull and a late hull carry the same package.
While you are asking, settle the drivetrain too. Sunseeker lists propulsion as shafts or pods. Pods make docking in a crosswind far less stressful, which matters more to most families than they admit. Shafts are simpler under the boat and more forgiving of the day you find the bottom, which on 4' 6" of draft you eventually will. Neither is right in the abstract, but the decision is permanent, so make it before you shortlist hulls.
The numbers that constrain a weekend
Fuel is 580 US gallons. Water is 158 US gallons. Displacement is 59,524 lbs at half load, and note that qualifier: half load already carries a working amount of fuel, water and gear. If you are comparing against a builder who quotes light condition, you are not comparing like with like.
For a burn number, use the sea trial. Hold the boat at your intended cruise until the figures settle and have observed consumption recorded in writing along with sea state, load and trim. That is the only number that describes the boat you are actually buying.
Of the two tanks, water is the one that will end your weekend first. One hundred and fifty-eight gallons goes quickly with six people aboard and a transom shower in use.
Where it sits against the competition
The Princess F55 at 57' 9", with the same three-cabin two-head arrangement, is the direct British cross-shop and the boat most of these buyers walk to next. The Azimut Fly 53 at 55' 1" attacks the same slip length from the Italian side and puts a crew berth into the mix.
Against both, the Sunseeker case rests on three things you can check: a 25-knot cruise speed; a 4' 6" draft that is genuinely shallow for the length; and a full-beam master with full-height headroom.
If you need a fourth cabin or crew quarters, none of these will do it and you want the Manhattan 68. The rest of the family is on the Manhattan series page.
Sunseeker is showing this boat at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8 to 13 September 2026, alongside the world premiere of the Manhattan 94. It did not take the 55.
