Do that at sea trial with the boat loaded the way you will actually run it, and you will have a number worth planning a season around.

The starboard helm on the flybridge is positioned to simplify docking manoeuvres, and the IPS joystick handles the rest, which is what makes a boat with this much beam manageable for an owner-operator working alone.

Certification is CE category B for 14 people aboard. Confirm the people-aboard figure on your own build documents, along with anything you intend to size a slip, a lift or an insurance policy from. If you plan to run the boat in the shoulder seasons, price the opening hardtop section and the solar panels at order rather than later.

Above it, the Navetta 62 adds eight more inches of beam and 158 more gallons of fuel on three and a half more feet of length. That is the natural next step and a real one, so walk both if the passage is what you are buying for.

The comparison worth making inside the brand is against the 56 FLY, which is an inch longer and a very different boat: 15' 9" of beam against 16' 11", 687 gallons against 740, and a flybridge brief built around entertaining rather than around distance. It fits a couple who want the best cabin on the boat and are prepared to have it forward. The full-beam master with its walk-in closet is the room that makes long trips feel like living somewhere, and the midship VIP is close enough in standard that you can put friends aboard for a fortnight without apologising.

It fits an owner who wants the boat to change with the guest list. The saloon can be ordered as a formal dining room for six or as a lounge; the cockpit takes modular sofas; the third cabin converts between singles and a double at the touch of a switch. Those are order-sheet decisions, so make them deliberately.

It is the wrong boat if you want an express profile and a hard turn of speed - a 16' 11" beam buys volume and pays for it in wetted surface, and that is the trade. It is also the wrong boat to configure before a sea trial: get observed burn at your cruise rpm and the draft for your own build in writing first.
