A Minted Location day guide
Dock & Dine in Sitka
Dining in Sitka works from a slip and a short walk. The City's own harbour page puts it plainly: the harbours are "conveniently located within walking distance of a grocery store, marine supply store, restaurants and downtown." Take a City berth, then walk — no venue in town runs a guest dock or a courtesy float.
Beak is a short walk from Crescent Harbor and takes no reservations at all: first come, first served, so go early. Mean Queen is on Harbor Drive, a walk from either Crescent or ANB. Ludvig's Bistro takes reservations online and is the one worth booking before you arrive. Bayview Pub, Halibut Point Crab & Chowder, Larkspur Cafe and the Sitka Hotel's dining room fill out the list, and all of them are reached the same way — on foot or by cab from the harbour.
The chart below is a cruising diagram — the five harbours in the order you meet them, the two anchorages NOAA is candid about, and the narrows that gate the inside route north.
The stops, as their own docks describe them
| Spot | Where | Arriving by boat |
|---|---|---|
| Beak RestaurantA short walk from Crescent Harbor. It takes no reservations at all and works first come, first served, so go early rather than late. | 2 Lincoln Street, a short walk from Crescent Harbor | Take a City berth and walk |
| Mean QueenOn Harbor Drive, a short walk from either Crescent or ANB. | 205 Harbor Drive | Take a City berth and walk |
| Ludvig's BistroTakes reservations online, and it is the one worth booking before you arrive. Tie up at a City harbour and walk in. | Downtown Sitka | Take a City berth and walk |
Dockage notes are what each restaurant publishes on its own site — space is first-come and dinner-hour rafting is real, so hail ahead. Where a venue states nothing about docking, we say so rather than guess.
Planning more than lunch?
We represent buyers wherever the right boat sits — shortlisting, surveying and sea-trialing on the buyer's side of the table. Tell us the mission and we'll tell you which boat, and which berth, it calls for.
