Dock & Dine in Jacksonville
Jacksonville dock-and-dine runs the whole river, and the honest pattern is this: two venues publish outright welcomes, and the rest are landmarks best reached from the city's own docks — which is less a compromise than it sounds, because Jacksonville's public dockage is unusually good.
The two plain invitations
Whitey's Fish Camp on Doctors Lake has been a North Florida staple since 1963 and publishes its own by-boat directions — under the Highway 17 bridge, southwest to Swimming Pen Creek — with docks and rentals on the property. And at Beach Marine on the ICW, MAVI Waterfront Bar & Grill says it in one line: pull right up and Dock & Dine, no reservations needed. A basin south, Marker 32 serves the waterway's fine-dining benchmark from Palm Cove Marina, whose own amenities page lists transient dockage — check local dockage options on arrival.
Mayport and Sisters Creek — the shrimp-boat table
The river mouth eats the way it works. Safe Harbor Seafood serves dockside beside the fleet that lands its menu; Singleton's Seafood Shack has held its corner of the village since 1969; Sandollar watches the ships from the Fort George bank; and Palms Fish Camp sits on the Sisters Creek stretch the city itself lists among its water-access sites. None of the four publishes patron dockage — the play is Jim King Park's city dock at the ICW junction, open 24/7 and rated for any size vessel, then a short hop or a shorter drive.
Downtown — tie up at the city's docks
The Chart House landmark on the Southbank is steps from the city's St. Johns Marina docks at 901 Museum Circle, and the reopened Met Park Marina puts transient boats on the north bank by the stadium — with the Metropolitan Park wood docks free on non-event days, first-come, up to 72 hours.
The creeks and the border town
South of the city, Julington Creek Fish Camp and Palm Valley Fish Camp carry the fish-camp tradition on thin, honest water — the Coast Pilot reports 5 feet (1983 report) in Julington Creek — so check local dockage options and mind the tide. And at ICW Mile 716, The Salty Pelican faces Fernandina Harbor Marina across Front Street, first of the 20-plus restaurants the city FAQ counts within walking distance of the docks.

The St. Johns is a shipping river: expect commercial traffic to the Main Street Bridge, watch the 5.2-knot ebb angling under the Atlantic Boulevard span, and give the Mayport Navy basin its legally required distance.
