Dock & Dine in Fort Myers & Cape Coral
Fort Myers dock-and-dine splits by water. On the river, the invitations are explicit: The Boathouse Tiki Bar & Grill runs twin decks on the Caloosahatchee — Fort Myers on one bank, the Cape Coral Yacht Basin on the other — under the plainest welcome in the region: dock, dine, unwind, repeat. Around the Gulf approach, Rumrunners at Cape Harbour posts free docking and its own arrival coordinates, with Safe Harbor Cape Harbour's basin next door.
The beach — Matanzas Pass and Estero Bay
Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on Fishermans Wharf says come by car or boat, and throws in the show — its site claims the largest shrimp boat fleet in the U.S. working the pass outside your table. At the island's south end, Flippers on the Bay publishes its own boat approach off Big Carlos Pass at Marker 4 — remember the Coast Pilot's 2016 shoaling reports and hail ahead. The 89-ball town mooring field is the overnight play, with dinghy docks under the bridge.
The islands — marina tables and one beach landing
Sanibel and Captiva do it the marina way: Gramma Dot's Seaside Saloon sits inside Sanibel Marina's transient docks, The Green Flash on Captiva keeps 15 slips of its own off the Roosevelt Channel with turn-at-Marker-38 directions, and Lighthouse Waterfront Restaurant dines Port Sanibel Marina's nightly-slip guests on a 160-foot screened porch before the causeway. The exception proves Captiva: The Mucky Duck fronts the Gulf beach, not a dock — check local dockage options, tie up bayside at 'Tween Waters, and cross Andy Rosse Lane on foot.
