Dock & Dine in Dominica
Dining in Dominica works the way it always has: take a mooring, and go in by tender.
No restaurant on the island publishes a guest dock, patron moorage or a time limit, and there is no marina berth to walk off either. In Nassau or Tortola you berth and walk. In Dominica you moor and you launch the tender — and in Prince Rupert Bay you can have someone else do the running.
The one place that publishes a landing is the PAYS pavilion on Purple Turtle Beach, in Prince Rupert's Bay. The association states that its own boat is used "for meet and greet, assist in tying up on a mooring, and as a shuttle shore to ship" — a published ship-to-shore shuttle is genuinely rare, and for a market with no dock it is the useful fact. It lists moorings, WIFI and showers for guests, and services covering customs and immigration clearance, fuel, water, transportation to and from shore, mooring, search and rescue, garbage collection, ice and laundry. Office hours are 08:30–16:30, with VHF Ch 16 and mobile 24 hours and staff "On call during closed hours." Mooring, shuttle and service rates are settled on the radio.
Security in the bay comes with the mooring. Its own pages give it as a "24h security patrol" and as "complimentary night security in Prince Rupert's Bay."
So the working instruction for Dominica is: take a mooring, run your own tender, and carry the park passes. The chart below runs the lee shore south to north — the no-anchoring reserve at Scott's Head, past the fifteen-hundred-foot wall, up through Roseau and the commercial port, and into Prince Rupert Bay and the Cabrits — because that is the sequence a boat actually works.
