Dock & Dine in Bay of Kotor & Tivat
The Boka's dock-and-dine is a day run through enclosed water — the whole circuit happens inside the bay, and one venue on it publishes the plainest boat welcome in Montenegro. Every stop below carries the venue's or its operator's own published words; where a famous room's site is silent on dockage, the table says so and the marina berth does the work.
The Verige strait run — the heart of it
Verige 65 at Kostanjica is the verified arrival: "tie your boat on the dock just in front of the restaurant," its own contact page says — the dock takes boats to 49 ft (15 m), and bigger yachts tender in. It stands at the narrowest part of the bay, looking up the strait to Perast and the islets of Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George. On the Perast quay itself, Restaurant Conte serves fine traditional Montenegrin and Mediterranean cooking at the stone waterfront directly opposite the islets — its site is silent on the jetty, so check local dockage options before you commit. Around the Ljuta corner, Stari Mlini — a family restaurant of more than 40 years in a historic mill — states it plainly: easily accessible by land and water; with no berth dimensions published, the tender is the sure arrival. And below the walls, Galion's terrace stands above Kotor's sea beside the Old Town, with Marina Kotor's 170 berths adjacent.
The Tivat quay — dinner on your own berth
At Porto Montenegro the berth is the reservation: stern-to (Med-moor) on VHF 71, then a short walk. One holds the foot of Jetty 1 with modern Adriatic cuisine on a spacious terrace, Al Posto Giusto runs the wood-fired Italian room in the marina village year-round, and Bokka Modern pairs Western Balkan tradition with contemporary technique on the waterfront.
The entrance — Portonovi and Rose
Portonovi's 238-berth marina (yachts to 459 ft / 140 m) puts the resort village's dining rooms a pontoon walk away — Sabia, the One&Only's Italian and Sardinian headliner with its tableside fish deboning, and Malo Ribarsko Selo, the fish house working the bay's own seafood, among a dozen listed on the resort's own index. The individual venue pages are quiet on boat access, so berth in the marina and walk. Across the entrance at Rose, Forte Rose — the fortress that once guarded the bay — spreads five dining venues and four beaches at the Boka's mouth; check local dockage options before you plan an arrival by water.
Before you go
The run is short-hop and protected the whole way, but it is not empty water: Kotor's inner basin shares its summer with a serious cruise schedule — roughly 500 ship calls a year by the port's own count — and pilotage applies over 1000 GRT. Book the marquee tables in season and keep the tender ready for the quays that publish nothing.
