GTI is a single-boat class, and it exists to answer one question: what if you wanted the 435 GTO's shape and size, but with diesels under the cockpit instead of outboards on the transom?
The 435 GTI is 44' 11" overall on a 13' 6" beam — within two inches of the 435 GTO in length and identical in beam. Everything downstream of the propulsion choice diverges. Twin 480 hp inboard diesels take it to 32 knots against the GTO's 51. Draft goes deeper, 3' 10" against 3' 1". Fuel drops to 370 gallons, but fresh water rises to 106 — a third more than its outboard sibling carries.

Moving Up the GTI Series
There is one boat in this class, so the progression that matters is the one running sideways — GTI against GTO at the same length.
The 435 GTI at 44' 11" carries two cabins and one head, 370 gallons of fuel and 106 of water, and weighs 35,314 lbs — about four hundred pounds less than the outboard 435 GTO despite carrying its engines inboard. Twin 480 hp diesels give up to 32 knots.
Set against the 435 GTO: same beam at 13' 6", two inches shorter overall, 19 knots slower flat out, 9 inches deeper in draft, 158 gallons less fuel and 27 gallons more water. The GTO's triple outboards buy speed and a shallower draft. The GTI's diesels buy quieter running at cruising revs, an unobstructed transom in the way an inboard boat allows, and the water capacity to stay out longer between fills.
Our Take
I would not treat this as a smaller class than the GTO — treat it as the same boat with a different engine-room decision, because that is what it is.
The way I put it to buyers: outboards win the day trip, inboards win the weekend. The GTO is 19 knots faster and sits 9 inches shallower, which matters if you run thin water or you want to be somewhere in an hour rather than two. The GTI carries a third more fresh water on a boat the same size, and at the revs you will actually hold for four hours it is a quieter place to be. That water figure is the one people overlook and then regret.
Ask for a cruise figure at sea trial and hold the throttle where you would actually run it — that is the number that decides whether this is your boat.
