Our Take
Ferretti put real engineering into the 1000 Skydeck, and it shows in the details that don't make the brochure. The 48-inch side decks and three-exit pilothouse are the kind of decisions that separate a well-thought-out yacht from one that just looks good in photos. The optional M96L engines are worth the upcharge if you're running the boat more than 100 hours a year. At 28 knots, you're saving hours on every Bahamas crossing, and that time adds up over a season.
This boat is for the buyer who has owned in the 75- to 85-foot range and wants more space without the operational complexity of a 110-footer. It's not for the first-time buyer stepping up from a 60-footer. The systems, the crew requirements, and the operating costs all assume you've been here before. If you're chartering or hosting family trips regularly, the five equal-sized cabins and main-deck master layout make more sense than competitors that prioritize the owner suite at the expense of guest accommodations.
