One boat, and a deliberate one - the 48 Coupé takes the 47 FLY's hull package and spends the flybridge on a solar roof and a lower profile.
Coupé is Absolute's sport line, and at present it is one boat: the 48 Coupé, 48' 11" overall on a 14' 10" beam.
The yard files it as a peer of the Flybridge and Navetta ranges rather than beneath them, and the reason becomes obvious once you put it next to the 47 FLY. The two share a beam, 423 gallons of fuel, 140 gallons of fresh water and the same twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 package. Every difference between them is a deck plan decision.
What the Coupé does with that decision is spend the flybridge on three things: a roof carrying solar panels, one of them transparent so it lights the salon instead of heating it; side gunwales that open to put the sea at eye level from a seated position; and a cockpit with nothing fixed in it, so the furniture is arranged for the day you are having. The lower profile is the fourth thing, and it matters more than it sounds on an inland run with bridges and again in a crosswind at the fuel dock.
Three cabins with high ceilings sit below, and the salon runs large electrically opening side windows the length of the deck into a panoramic windshield.

Moving Up the Coupé Series
48 Coupé — 48' 11" overall, 14' 10" beam, 3 cabins / 2 heads, 423 gal fuel, 140 gal water, 14 aboard, CE category B. Twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 at 2 x 480 hp with joystick control. The cockpit carries no visual barriers and no fixed obstacles, and the side gunwales open to the water. Glazed balustrades toward the stern keep the sightline unbroken from the cockpit, the salon and the helm. In the salon, large side windows envelop the deck, meet a panoramic windshield and open electrically, so the boat ventilates naturally instead of running air conditioning through a mild evening. The roof carries a set of solar panels, one of them transparent.
The cross-range comparison worth making: 47 FLY — same 14' 10" beam, same 423 gallons of fuel, same 140 gallons of water, same D6-IPS650 package, 48' 0" overall. Three cabins and two heads on both. The flybridge boat gives you a top deck with a barbecue station and a sunpad beside the helm; the Coupé gives you the solar roof, the opening gunwales and the lower air draft. Walk them back to back — the choice is genuinely just about which deck you will use.
Our Take
A one-boat range usually means a model that has not found its family yet. This one is the opposite: the 48 Coupé is a deliberate answer to a question the flybridge boats cannot answer, and Absolute files it as its own range for that reason.
Here is how I put it to buyers. You are choosing between this and the 47 FLY, and underneath they are the same boat — same beam, same tanks, same pods. So stop comparing specifications and start comparing days. If your day involves a top deck, a barbecue and somebody driving from up there while everyone else sits around him, buy the flybridge. If your day involves the cockpit, the water at eye level through an open gunwale, and a boat that fits under the bridges on your run, buy the Coupé.
The two features I would go and operate myself at a sea trial are the opening side gunwales and the electric side windows in the salon. Both sound like brochure items and both change how the boat feels at anchor: the gunwales because seated sightlines to the water are what people actually want and rarely get, and the windows because a boat that ventilates naturally is a boat whose generator is not running through dinner. The solar roof works the same argument from the other end — ask at the order desk what the array on your specification carries and what still needs the generator, because that answer decides how quiet a night on the hook is.
Three cabins at 49 feet without a flybridge is the other thing worth stating plainly. Families walk into this size expecting to trade a cabin for the sportier profile, and here you do not. High ceilings below, three separate doors, and a main deck wrapped in glass on both sides.
Before you sign, get the draft, the rigged weight and observed fuel burn at your intended cruise rpm confirmed in writing for your own hull and engine package.
