Prestige X70

The X70 is the larger of Prestige's two X-Line yachts, 71' 7" overall on a 17' 6" beam, and it is the boat where Garroni Design took the full-beam idea all the way. There are no sidedecks. The saloon and the Infinity Cockpit use the entire width of the hull, and you reach the foredeck through a sliding glass door to starboard at the helm rather than walking around the outside. Two stairways from the aft cockpit lead up to the flybridge.

Four staterooms plus an optional skipper cabin take eight guests and two crew. The owner's suite is forward with private access, a king berth, a sofa, a walk-in closet and panoramic hull windows.

Volvo Penta IPS is the only drive package offered: twin IPS 1200 on D13 blocks at 900 hp each, or twin IPS 1350 at 1,000 hp. Prestige publishes 26 knots top — quoted at full load — and 20 knots cruise.

Light displacement is 73,634 lbs against 101,015 lbs full load, so the X70 carries better than 27,000 lbs of fuel, water, gear and people between those two states, and the loaded figure is the one to plan around. Fuel is 1,057 gallons. Four joystick stations — main helm, flybridge helm, hardtop support and cockpit — are what make a 71-footer with no sidedecks manageable at the dock without a deckhand on the rail. Get observed burn at your intended cruise rpm in writing at the sea trial and work your own numbers off that tank.

Removing the sidedecks buys the saloon the whole beam, and the difference shows in the furniture rather than the brochure: full-size sofas, a proper dining table in the aft cockpit, and a central galley in stainless steel and marble sitting in the middle of the social space instead of down a companionway. Walnut woodwork, leather and heavy textiles carry through, with flush floorboards and sliding glass running the width.

The owner's suite forward has its own access, a king berth, a sofa, a walk-in closet, two storage cabinets, panoramic windows and an en suite bathroom. Three more staterooms plus an optional skipper cabin take the boat to eight guests and two crew. The flybridge and the beach club aft handle the outdoor half.

The X70 competes with the Azimut Fly 72, the Princess Y72 and the Galeon 680 FLY, and it is the most architecturally committed of the four.

Sidedecks are the convention this segment keeps. Prestige traded them for interior volume, which is a real decision with real consequences: you gain a saloon that feels a class larger, and you give up the ability to walk a line forward along the rail. Owners who berth stern-to and step off the swim platform will never miss them. Owners who single-hand a bow line in a crosswind should walk the boat before signing. That is the whole trade, and for the right buyer it is worth making.

The X70 fits the owner who wants seventy-plus feet of interior without hiring a full crew to run it. Four IPS joystick stations, two helms and a single skipper cabin are the practical shape of that: a captain for delivery legs and long passages, the owner at the controls the rest of the time.

Eight guests sleep comfortably in four staterooms, with the owner's suite genuinely separate forward. If your season is the Bahamas, the Keys and the Florida east coast with family aboard a week at a time, this is the layout that pays. If you need side access to a working foredeck, this is not your boat — and that is worth settling before the sea trial rather than after.
