Pershing 7X Review: 50 Knots and Zero Apologies
Carbon-fiber construction, twin 1,800-hp MAN V12s, and surface drives that redefine what a 70-footer can do. This is the boat that treats the Bahamas like a day trip.

“The 7X is one of the most honest sport yachts Pershing has built in the past decade. The carbon-fiber construction is not a gimmick. It is a structural decision that allows the boat to hit 50 knots without feeling like it is going to shake apart. The MAN V12s are proven, the surface drives are well-matched to the hull, and the ride quality at speed is better than most buyers expect from a boat this light. The build quality is consistent with what you see across the Ferretti Group portfolio, which means it is good but not flawless. You will find minor fit-and-finish issues if you look hard enough, but nothing that affects performance or long-term durability.
This boat is for the owner who already knows they want to go fast and is willing to accept the trade-offs that come with it. If you are debating between the 7X and a slower, more efficient cruiser, you are not the buyer. If you are debating between the 7X and a Cigarette 515, you are closer. The 7X gives you the speed of a go-fast boat with the accommodations and range of a sport yacht. That is a narrow lane, but it is a lane that exists, and Pershing owns it.
Resale on the 7X will depend heavily on hours and maintenance records. High-hour examples with deferred maintenance will struggle. Low-hour examples with documented service will hold value well, especially in South Florida and the Mediterranean where the buyer pool for high-performance yachts is deep. The surface drives are a selling point for performance buyers but a concern for some brokers, so expect questions during the resale process. If you are planning to keep the boat for five to seven years and run it hard, the 7X makes sense. If you are planning to flip it in two years, buy something with broader market appeal.”
