Dock & Dine in Tacoma & Gig Harbor

← Back to the Tacoma & Gig Harbor guide

Dock-and-dine in this market is a Gig Harbor move.

Anthony's at Gig Harbor states the terms outright: "Guest moorage is located on the dock just in front of the restaurant and is available for you to use while dining", and "moorage is on a first-come, first-serve basis."

Anthony's at Point Defiance has a float too, confirmed on the marina's own page: "another float near Anthony's Restaurant for dining." If it is taken, take a slip at Point Defiance Marina and walk.

Tides Tavern is the other Gig Harbor waterfront name, and arriving there is arranged on the day rather than published — call ahead, or tie at Jerisich Dock and walk.

So the practical instruction splits by town. In Gig Harbor you genuinely can tie up and eat — at Anthony's on its own float, or at Jerisich Dock, which puts you on a waterfront mini-park in the middle of downtown for $1.75 a foot in summer. In Tacoma the move is the public one: four hours free at the Foss Waterway Seaport's 1,200-foot side-tie, then walk the waterway.

The chart below runs the two towns and the gate between them — the Narrows at its strongest, the Thea Foss berths in order, and Blake Island at the top.

Dockage notes are what each restaurant publishes on its own site — space is first-come and dinner-hour rafting is real, so hail ahead. Where a venue states nothing about docking, we say so rather than guess.
