Dock & Dine in Sidney & the Gulf Islands
Dining here runs off the marina, not the restaurant. In every case the dock belongs to the marina and the tie-up terms are the marina's — so book the berth first and the table second.

Two marina rules are worth having before you go.
Salt Spring Marina publishes the dinghy terms for the pub it hosts: free on the shoreside of E dock for customers, and anything larger than a dinghy needs permission at $1.10 per foot day rate. It is the clearest tie-up rule in the islands, and worth knowing before you leave the boat.
Poets Cove gives you moorage at $2.50 per foot May to September and three places to eat once you are tied up. Ganges Marina will take you, but its own instruction is not negotiable: "YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION BEFORE ARRIVAL. THE GATE IS LOCKED 24/7."
Everywhere else, the instruction is the Sidney one: take a berth, then walk. The chart below reads the cruising ground rather than a dining strip — the four customs points, the berths, and the three tidal gates that decide when you move.

Dockage notes are what each restaurant publishes on its own site — space is first-come and dinner-hour rafting is real, so hail ahead. Where a venue states nothing about docking, we say so rather than guess.
