Dock & Dine in Palma de Mallorca
Palma's dock-and-dine is built into its marinas: the Calvià harbors put the tables on the berth line, and the city clubs put the terrace in the middle of the moorings. Every welcome below is the venue's or its port's own published word.
Puerto Portals — lunch off the berth
The bay's classic lunch stop is its marquee marina — 701 moorings from 26 to 197 ft (8–60 m), with the restaurants listed in the port's own commercial guide. Cappuccino Grand Café holds berth number 1 for the pre-run breakfast, Flanigan has fed the first line since 1987, and Tahini serves its sushi in glass private-dining cabins over the water. Port Adriano — the Starck quay
Eleven restaurants range along the Philippe Starck-designed marina, from Mediterranean to haute cuisine by the port's own count, and Coast by East takes the marquee seafood-and-grill seat directly over the superyacht berths. Dockage is serious here too: 487 moorings from 20 to 262 ft (6–80 m), 87 of them for big yachts, with last-minute superyacht berth booking online.
The city — dinner among the moorings
El Náutico at the Real Club Náutico de Palma is the literal dock-and-dine of the capital: the club's own site puts the terrace in the middle of the port's berths, and 19 percent of its 1,019 moorings are designated for visiting non-member vessels — call capitanía on VHF 9 or 77. West along the Paseo Marítimo, Club de Mar-Mallorca's rebuilt clubhouse names four venues of its own — Azotea, Saltao de Mar, Cantina Grill and Mar Salada — above 543 moorings and a commercial area open to the public.
The classic day run
Depart the city waterfront — Club de Mar or the RCNP — and swim at Illetes on the west shore, where no buoy field is listed and the Posidonia decree governs: clear sand only. Lunch at Puerto Portals, round the corner to the pine-backed Portals Vells calas, then make Port Adriano for the long lunch or the overnight. Cross the bay east and take a buoy in the regulated Cala Blava field — reserved through fondeos.caib.es — before running home for dinner among the berths. On the Cala Estància point, Purobeach Palma — the original Puro beach club, by its own account — is the east bay's landmark; its site is silent on boat access, so check local dockage options.
Before you go
All of it is stern-to (Med-moor). August berth scarcity is real — Puerto Portals directs summer booking through its captaincy, and Copa del Rey week fills the Palma waterfront in the first week of August. Anchoring anywhere in the bay is governed by the Balearic Posidonia decree: sand only, buoys where fields exist. Bigger plans than lunch?
