Dock & Dine in New York Harbor
Dock-and-dine barely exists in New York Harbor. Eating here works from a berth and a short walk, with two exceptions.
One harbour venue publishes a real product. The Shipyard Marina on the Hoboken waterfront sells dock-and-dine at $25 per hour with a two-hour minimum, subject to availability, in a basin with 8 ft at low tide and a season running May 1 to October 31. Its longest side tie is 50 ft, so this is an open boat and small-express proposition rather than somewhere to bring a flybridge.
One venue runs a full programme, and it is 75 nm up the Hudson. Shadows on the Hudson at Poughkeepsie publishes seasonal slips at $75 per foot and transient dockage at "$2 per foot, plus tax, per night, for less than 100 feet," and will "deliver lunch or dinner right to your boat." If arriving by water to eat is the point of the trip, that is the run that rewards it.
Everywhere else on this run works the older way. Maritime Parc in Jersey City sits on the water — "a private staircase leads directly to the marina" — and Liberty House, Half Moon and Hudson House River Inn are reached the same way: take a berth, then walk. Grand Banks is a docked schooner, a destination you walk aboard rather than a dock you tie to. Call ahead anywhere you intend to arrive by boat.

Dockage notes are what each restaurant publishes on its own site — space is first-come and dinner-hour rafting is real, so hail ahead. Where a venue states nothing about docking, we say so rather than guess.
