Dock & Dine in Naples & Marco Island

← Back to the Naples & Marco Island guide

Naples treats arriving by boat as the natural order of things — the town's signature restaurant answers the question on its own FAQ page, and the city's transient wall sits a dock line away when its four slips are taken.

Naples Bay — the cove and the canals

The Dock at Crayton Cove has been the answer since 1976: four first-come slips at the restaurant that calls itself the best boat-access table in Collier County, right beside the City Dock's 400 feet of transient frontage. Down the Bayshore canals, Celebration Park extends its own invitation — arrive by boat or on foot — to a food-truck park with a full bar and live music. The Gordon River holds the landmarks: Kelly's Fish House, Naples' oldest seafood restaurant (1952), beside the working fish docks, and Riverwalk at Tin City in the 1979-vintage waterfront marketplace. Both sites are silent on patron docks, so the City Dock does the tying-up while you do the walking.

The Marco River — markers to the table

CJ's on the Bay publishes the best arrive-by-boat directions in the region: enter Collier Bay east of red 12, keep left, turn at green 11 into Smokehouse Bay, and tie up free at one of 8 public docks on the sea wall — 30 feet each with 4 feet of draft clearance, overnight by the Esplanade dockmaster's permission. Up the river, the Snook Inn says it plainest — come by boat, and watch the dolphins from the Chickee Bar — as it has for over 30 years. And just inside Capri Pass, Pelican Bend has fed the Isles of Capri since 1979; its site is silent on dockage, so check local options before you nose in.

Goodland — the backcountry table

Little Bar has anchored Goodland since 1978, though its own site says it closes for summer and reopens in October 2026 — time the run accordingly, and pair it with a fuel stop at Safe Harbor Calusa Island around the corner.

Before you go

The Coast Pilot writes the manners into the sailing directions: no-wake between Daybeacons 7 and 10 in Gordon Pass and from Daybeacon 29 to the bridge in Naples Bay. FWC manatee zones blanket Collier County waters — the regulations as posted on the water govern. The Marco River's 4-foot midchannel controlling depth is real, and the mooring field wants a pump-out and Y-valve tag before you take a ball. Bigger plans than dinner? Dockage notes are what each restaurant publishes on its own site — space is first-come and dinner-hour rafting is real, so hail ahead. Where a venue states nothing about docking, we say so rather than guess.
