It is ten on a Saturday morning, six people are aboard, the cooler is full and somebody wants to move to the bow. On most 34-footers that means a shuffle along a side deck with one hand on the rail. On the Tiara 34 LX it means walking down the middle of the boat, past the galley, between chest-high bulkheads, and sitting down.
That is the whole idea. The 34 LX is not a center console with a cuddy bolted to it, and it is not a cabin boat with the cabin removed. It is Tiara's luxury crossover: 34'9" overall with the integrated platform, 11'0" of beam, 3'1" of draft, 13,800 lbs dry, and a deck drawn as one continuous room.
Who It's For
The 34 LX suits the owner whose boating is day-shaped. You leave a slip in the morning and you are back in it at night. Six to eight people come with you. You want them comfortable for all of it, which in practice means a galley that works and a head with a door.
It is not a tournament fishing platform and it does not pretend to be. There are no berths to make up, one head to service, and outboards on the transom. If the point of your boat is that it asks very little of you between trips, this is the right shape.
Design and Layout: One Room, Not Three Zones
Walk aboard and the centerline walkway is the first thing you notice, because it changes how everyone moves. It runs the length of the boat, flanked by chest-high bulkheads, and it opens onto bow seating with its own backrests. Nobody edges past anybody. Nobody climbs over a windshield.
Amidships, the galley is set up for real use, with dedicated marine storage built in around it, so lunch aboard is not a cooler on the sole. Below the helm sits the private head - the single feature that most often decides whether a mixed group stays out for a full day or asks to go in early.
Aft, the seating transforms between lounging and social arrangements. That flexibility is the point of the layout: the same cockpit handles four people at anchor and a full group at a sandbar without anything being folded away and forgotten.
The boat stands 8'7" from the waterline to the standard hardtop and 9'11" to the Garmin radar. Worth writing down if your home dock has a fixed bridge between it and open water.
On the Water
Twin Mercury Verado outboards power the 34 LX, with Garmin marine navigation integrated at the helm. The transom carries 22 degrees of deadrise, which is a genuine deep-V number for a 34-footer built around a social deck rather than a fishing cockpit.
The boat carries 200 gallons of fuel, 30 gallons of fresh water and a 20-gallon holding tank. That is day-boat tankage, sized for long days out and back rather than for overnighting away from a fuel dock, and it is sized correctly for the way this boat is meant to be used.
Outboards also mean the engines are serviced at the transom rather than through a hatch in the middle of the sole, which is one of the quiet reasons this segment has moved the way it has.
What to Settle at Sea Trial
Confirm the engine package on the specific hull you are offered. Tiara has shown the 34 LX with more than one Verado rating, and the package changes the boat.
Then take it out in the conditions you actually boat in - not a harbor loop. Run it at the rpm you expect to cruise at, and get observed speed and fuel burn at that setting in writing. Work your own range numbers off the 200-gallon tank rather than anybody's estimate, including ours.
While you are aboard: move people around. Send someone forward while you are underway. Use the head. Open the storage. The layout is the argument this boat makes, so test the layout.
Where to Start
