The ULTIMA 77 is the boat in Sunreef's range I most want to see in person, and the one the shipyard tells you least about.
What Sunreef Publishes
Length: 23.5 m (77 ft). Beam: 8.2 m (27 ft). Guests: up to 10. Engines: Volvo Penta D11 with IPS 950 pods.
That is close to the entire published specification. No fuel capacity. No water capacity. No draft — on a seventy-seven-foot yacht, in a range whose whole premise is shallow-water access.
It is the thinnest specification block of the fourteen models we cover, and it puts more weight on the shipyard visit and the written specification than a better-documented boat would.
Who It's For
Read past the documentation gap and the concept is genuinely interesting. Eight point two metres of beam on twenty-three and a half metres of hull is a sleek proportion for a catamaran — this is not a wide cruising platform, it is a fast, narrow one that will take an ordinary berth.
IPS 950 is a substantial pod package, the largest in the ULTIMA range below the 88. And as on the 66, Sunreef offers a hydrofoil option and high-performance hybrid propulsion.
Buy it if you want ten guests on a performance catamaran that berths conventionally, and you are prepared to get the missing numbers from the shipyard directly rather than off a web page.
Against the 80 Sunreef Power
These two are close in length — 23.5 m against 23.8 m — and completely different boats.
The 80 Sunreef Power is 12.00 m wide, with a full-beam cockpit, a flybridge and a published 1.7 m draft. The ULTIMA 77 is 8.2 m wide, nearly four metres narrower. That is the difference between needing a specialist berth and taking an ordinary one, and between a big-volume cruising platform and a sleek performance one.
Choose on marina access versus deck area. Both are valid answers; they are just different questions.
Design and Layout
Ten guests inside 8.2 m of beam, on a 23.5 m hull. The proportions favour length over width, which is what preserves the berth footprint.
Standard range equipment includes folding bulwark platforms that extend the aft deck at anchor, custom sea-stairs and stowage designed for water toys, with ultralight flexible solar panels across the surfaces.
Sunreef publishes a guest count but no cabin or head breakdown and no living-space figure. Every ULTIMA is built to order.
What Sunreef Does Not Tell You
Sunreef publishes no speed figure for any boat in its current range. No top speed, no cruise speed, no range — not on this model and not on any of the other thirteen we cover. That is unusual. Most yards at this level publish at least a cruise figure, and several publish full performance tables.
We have left those rows empty on the specification table rather than filling them with an estimate. If a broker or a listing hands you a precise Sunreef speed, ask where it came from, because it did not come from the shipyard.
The same applies to displacement, which Sunreef publishes for nothing in the range, and to draft, which it publishes for only three of the fourteen models. Get the numbers you need in writing before you sign a build contract. Sunreef will provide them — they simply are not on the website.
On the 77 that gap is wider than usual. You are also missing fuel, water and draft.
Where to Start
Do not sign anything on this boat without a written specification covering tankage and draft. Sunreef will provide it — the shipyard simply has not published it. That is a documentation problem rather than an engineering one, but it is your problem until you ask.
Step up to the ULTIMA 88 for more length, a bigger pod package and a published living-space figure. Step down to the 66 if you want the model with the fullest published specification in the range.
