One point seven metres. Five feet seven inches. That is the draft Sunreef publishes for a seventy-eight-foot yacht with twelve metres of beam, and it is the only draft figure the shipyard publishes anywhere in its power range.
If you cruise the Bahamas, the Florida Keys or the shallower parts of the Mediterranean, that single number is most of the argument for this boat.
Who It's For
The Sunreef 80 Power NEXT is the flagship of the shipyard's power catamaran range. Sunreef publishes 23.8 m (78 ft 1 in) overall, a 12.00 m beam, 1.7 m of draft, CE design category A, 1,600 l of water and two fuel tanks of 5,000–8,000 l each.
It suits the owner who wants superyacht deck space and a beach club without accepting a superyacht's draft. A monohull motor yacht of the same length draws roughly twice as much and gives you about half the deck area.
Design and Layout
Twelve metres of beam on a 23.8 m hull is superyacht-scale deck area. The aft cockpit runs the full width of the boat. The flybridge is large enough for the spa pools, bars and extended sunpads that Sunreef offers under its NEXT programme, with a flush layout that improves the flow between levels.
Interiors are drawn per owner across the range, and at this size the hull volumes support a full owner's suite, several guest cabins and separate crew accommodation with independent access. Sunreef publishes no cabin or head count.
Sixteen Thousand Litres, on an Eco Boat
The tankage is the number that deserves a second look. Two tanks, each specified between 5,000 l and 8,000 l — up to 16,000 l in total.
That is a very large diesel capacity on a boat whose Eco version is sold on solar-electric propulsion, and both things are true at once. The classic version runs 2 × 800 hp to 2 × 1,200 hp and is built to cover serious distance. The Eco version replaces those with a solar-electric package built on Sunreef's solar skin 3.0 panels, lightweight next-generation batteries and energy-saving systems.
Which boat you end up with depends entirely on how you specify it, and the tanks are set at contract. Sunreef publishes no motor output or battery capacity for the Eco version, so get that in writing.
A Proven Hull
This is not a new platform. Sunreef's own model page names Eco hulls delivered through 2024 and 2025, and the 80 Sunreef Power has been in build long enough that there is a real brokerage population.
The NEXT restyle is the current drawing. If you are comparing an older 80 against a new one, the hull and systems carry over but the deck and interior architecture do not.
What Sunreef Does Not Tell You
Sunreef publishes no speed figure for any boat in its current range. No top speed, no cruise speed, no range — not on this model and not on any of the other thirteen we cover. That is unusual. Most yards at this level publish at least a cruise figure, and several publish full performance tables.
We have left those rows empty on the specification table rather than filling them with an estimate. If a broker or a listing hands you a precise Sunreef speed, ask where it came from, because it did not come from the shipyard.
The same applies to displacement, which Sunreef publishes for nothing in the range, and to draft, which it publishes for only three of the fourteen models. Get the numbers you need in writing before you sign a build contract. Sunreef will provide them — they simply are not on the website.

Buy the Sunreef 80 Power NEXT if you want superyacht deck space on a hull that can follow shallow water, and you want the one model in the range where Sunreef commits to that draft figure in print.
Step up to the 100 Sunreef Power if you need more length and much more fuel. Step down to the 70 if berthing and running costs matter. Step across to the 80 Sail NEXT if you would rather the boat generated its own power under sail.
