Every dual console promises you can stay out longer. The Pursuit D 365 Denali is the one that actually equips you to. An 8-kilowatt Fischer Panda diesel generator and a 10,000 BTU reverse-cycle air conditioner for the cabin are standard equipment on this boat, not options — which means the air conditioning runs at anchor, all night, with the engines off. That single fact is what separates the flagship Denali from every other boat in the line.
At 37 feet 11 inches overall with a 12-foot beam, 20 degrees of transom deadrise and 17,000 pounds of average dry weight, the D 365 is the biggest, best-protected and most heavily equipped dual console Pursuit builds. Triple Yamaha F350s — 1,050 horsepower — hang on the transom. It carries 326 gallons of fuel, 42 gallons of fresh water and a separate 23-gallon diesel tank for the generator.
Who It's For
This is the boat for the family that has been fighting the same argument for years: one of you wants a center console and the other wants a windshield and a place to lie down. Owners say precisely that in Pursuit's own feedback. The D 365 ends it. You get the open, fish-ready deck and the walkthrough cockpit of a serious fishing boat, and you get a cabin with two berths, a full shower and air conditioning behind a fiberglass door.
It suits the owner-operator running a big boat without a captain. Standard equipment includes the Yamaha joystick with Set Point and autopilot, a 3.0-horsepower bow thruster with its own joystick control and dedicated AGM battery, and a six-battery system with a service slide. A 38-foot, 12-foot-beam boat should be intimidating to dock. This one is engineered not to be.
Draft is 2 feet 2 inches motors up and 3 feet 1 inch down. Clearance with the hardtop is 9 feet 3 inches — a number to check against your bridges before you buy.
What 1,050 Horsepower Actually Costs
Pursuit publishes a full performance bulletin for every hull it sells, rpm by rpm, with mph, gallons per hour, miles per gallon and calculated range. The D 365's sheet was run on 4/4/2024 with four people aboard, 318 gallons of fuel, water, the generator's diesel and all optional equipment except the gyro fitted — 20,657 pounds of test weight.
The triple F350s produce:
- Wide open, 5,900 rpm: 58.0 mph at 90.3 gph — 0.64 mpg, 184 miles
- Best cruise, 3,500 rpm: 31.6 mph at 29.0 gph — 1.09 mpg, 312 miles
- 4,000 rpm: 38.1 mph at 38.0 gph — 1.00 mpg, 287 miles
- Economy, 3,000 rpm: 24.2 mph at 23.3 gph — 1.04 mpg, 297 miles
Range figures are Pursuit's own, calculated on 90 percent of test-condition fuel capacity.
Put the first two lines side by side, because they are the whole story of the boat. Thirty-one and a half miles an hour costs you 29 gallons an hour. The next 26.4 mph costs you another 61.3 gallons an hour and 128 miles of range. Fifty-eight miles an hour is a real and useful capability — it is how you outrun weather and how you get back inside an inlet before it closes down — but it is not a cruise speed, and Pursuit's own numbers say so plainly. Run this boat at 3,500 rpm and 312 miles is genuinely available.
Zero to 30 mph takes 9.6 seconds on the same sheet, which for a boat weighing over ten tons loaded is a proper figure.
The Cabin
Access is through a fiberglass door on the bridgedeck. Below there is a forward berth with cushions and hull-side windows for natural light, and an aft berth with a recessed 6-inch foam mattress. The head compartment is enclosed with a vacuum-flush marine toilet, a 22-gallon holding tank, a Corian countertop and a full shower. Solid wood accents and modern finishes are Pursuit's own description, and the fit is up to it.
Pursuit is honest about the scale of this: a small family or a couple can overnight for the weekend with basic amenities. That is the right way to put it. This is a weekender, not a stateroom.
On deck, the entertainment center is molded with Corian accents and holds a sink with a hot-and-cold mixing faucet, an electric grill, a cutting board, a 120-volt GFI outlet, lockable storage for three rods and a dedicated trash location. There is a 1.3-cubic-foot refrigerator/freezer on the bridgedeck. A custom molded full-beam sunroof opens the hardtop up when the weather is good — one of the details owners mention first.
Fishing the D 365
Foldaway seating at the transom and under the gunwales — patent-pending, per Pursuit — clears the cockpit out to a fish-ready deck. Standard equipment includes a lighted 28-gallon recirculating livewell with an acrylic lid and a cyclone pump on a bronze sea strainer, an insulated port fish box with a diaphragm pump and overboard discharge, in-floor insulated fish boxes, four gunwale rod holders, five transom rod holders, four more on the aft hardtop supports, and a hull-side door.
The hardtop carries designated locations for radar, outriggers and a spotlight or thermal camera. Gemlux stainless bases with 18-foot collapsible carbon fiber outriggers are on the option list, as is a Seakeeper 3 gyro with factory-certified installation. A 16,000 BTU cockpit air conditioning system is also optional — worth considering if your season includes a Gulf Coast August.
What It Isn't
The trailer conversation is over. Twelve feet of beam means a slip, a lift or a yard, and 9 feet 3 inches of hardtop clearance means checking bridges. Budget for the infrastructure as well as the boat.
The cabin is a weekend for two, or for a couple with small children. There are two berths and a proper head with a shower, but there is no galley below and no separate stateroom. If you want four people sleeping comfortably with a real galley on the same 37-foot-11-inch hull and the same triple F350s, that boat exists in Pursuit's own range — it is the OS 355, and the price of admission is giving up the walk-through dual console deck for a cabin-boat layout.
And the efficiency is what 1,050 horsepower on 17,000 pounds produces: 1.09 mpg at best cruise. The D 306 two rungs down does 1.64 mpg and covers more ground on far less fuel. You buy the D 365 for capability, protection and the ability to stay out, not for economy.
The Cross-Shops
Grady-White Freedom 375, Boston Whaler 380 Realm and Scout 380 LXF are the boats you will look at next to it. The D 365's specific arguments are the standard diesel generator and cabin air conditioning, the full-beam sunroof, the standard joystick and bow thruster package, and — as always with this builder — a published test sheet you can check every claim against.
The Bottom Line
The D 365 is the top of the Denali line and it earns the position with equipment rather than length alone. A generator and air conditioning as standard change what the boat is: a big, weather-protected, seriously equipped fishing and family platform that can genuinely stay out overnight. It is thirsty at speed, it is not trailerable, and its cabin is a weekender. Judged as the boat it actually is, very little else does the same job.
