The 8X is the X Generation boat for the party that outgrew the 7X. Four cabins plus two crew cabins is the standard arrangement - a three-cabin version is built as well - with three heads plus a crew bathroom, and Pershing rates the hull for sixteen people aboard.
The second crew cabin is the quiet headline. It is the smallest X that carries one, and it changes how the boat is run: a captain-and-mate operation is designed in rather than improvised, which matters the first time you hand the boat over for a long leg with a full guest list still aboard.

Performance
Pershing quotes 45 knots for the standard engine package and 48 for the optional one, and names the optional pair: twin MTU 16V 2000 M96Ls at 2,638 hp each, driving surface propellers. Cruise is 41 knots, with 310 nautical miles of range at that cruise from 1,638 gallons.
Two things to settle before you commit. Have the designation and rating of the exact engine package on the hull you are offered written into the specification - the two packages are three knots apart, and the gap shows up in acceleration as much as top end. And take observed burn at your intended cruise in writing at the sea trial: 310 miles at 41 knots is a fast boat's range, quoted at the fast speed.
Where It Sits in the Range
Against the 7X, the 8X trades two knots of published top end for a fourth cabin, a second crew cabin and fourteen feet of boat. Against the 9X above it, the 8X keeps the higher top speed while the 9X adds heads, range and people-aboard capacity for entertaining at scale. The 8X is the point in the line where the sport boat starts sleeping like a yacht without giving up the number on the dial.
