If you want the presence of a 45-metre yacht and the pace of something considerably smaller, the Alloy is where Sanlorenzo went looking. The yard describes the line as born from the spirit of the original SL planing yachts, bringing a new architectural expression to life at sea and pioneering the seamless flow between interior and exterior spaces.
Sanlorenzo is clear about the significance: the Alloy range started a new era in its production. Twenty-one knots on a 146-foot hull with 490 gross tons aboard is a genuinely unusual combination, and it is the reason to look here rather than at a displacement yacht of similar volume.

Moving Up the Alloy Series
Alloy — 146'0", 490 GT, 21 knots, 10 guests / 9 crew. Twin MTU 16V2000 M96L and 46,000 litres of fuel, on the yacht that opened Sanlorenzo's Alloy era.
Sanlorenzo has used several names for this boat over the years — 44Alloy and Alloy 44 among them — and now lists it simply as Alloy. The length has not changed: 44.5 metres, which is 146 feet exactly.
Our Take
The Alloy matters more in Sanlorenzo's story than its single-model line suggests. This is the boat that took the yard somewhere new, and years later it is still the only one in its range, which tells you the yard is being careful rather than prolific with it.
At 146 feet with nine crew it sits in a useful gap — real volume and real speed without the operating model of something in the fifties of metres. If you want to cruise fast with family and a small group rather than run a charter operation, the arithmetic works.
I have one open question on this boat and I would rather raise it than paper over it. Sanlorenzo's own page describes a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, on a model whose range is called Alloy. Most of the material in circulation says all-aluminium. Those are different boats to survey, insure, paint and maintain. Get the construction confirmed in writing by the yard for the specific hull before you go any further, and do not accept a brochure as the answer.
