Sanlorenzo SX100 Review: The Crossover That Works

A 101-foot yacht built around water access, not ego. Twin terraces, beach club, and a layout that makes sense whether you run it yourself or bring crew.

The SX100 is Sanlorenzo’s best answer to the question nobody was asking five years ago: what if a 100-footer did not have to act like a superyacht. The build quality is excellent, the systems are proven, and the hull is forgiving. The crossover concept works because Sanlorenzo committed to it fully rather than hedging with a traditional layout. The side terraces are not a gimmick. They change how you use the boat.

This yacht is for the owner who wants to be on the water, not above it. If you are coming out of a 70- or 80-footer and want more volume without crossing into the world of mandatory crew and flag state paperwork, the SX100 is the right move. It is not for the owner who wants a formal salon and a captain in whites. It is for the guy who wants to anchor in the Exumas, drop the terraces, and spend the afternoon in the water with his family.

Resale on the SX line has been strong, and I expect that to continue. The crossover segment is still growing, and Sanlorenzo has first-mover advantage. Maintenance costs are reasonable for an Italian yacht, and the service network in Florida is solid. If you keep the boat clean and do not over-customize, you will hold 70 to 75 percent of your money after three years. That is better than most yachts in this class.
