Pursuit’s build quality on the S358 is evident in the details most buyers won’t see until year three. The 27-layer composite transom and hand-laid hull construction with vinyl ester resin are engineered for longevity, not just spec sheets. The wiring in the mechanical space is some of the cleanest I’ve seen in this class. The five-year structural warranty isn’t marketing, it’s confidence in the construction process. At 51 mph with twins, the boat runs efficiently and the ride quality in 3-4 foot seas is genuinely comfortable.

This boat is for the owner who wants 70 percent fishing capability and 70 percent cruising capability, understanding that’s better than 100 percent of one and zero of the other. It’s not for the tournament angler who needs maximum deck space and doesn’t care about a cabin. It’s not for the cruiser who wants a full galley and separate stateroom. It’s for the majority in between who fish hard on Friday and host family on Saturday. The enclosed head alone makes this boat viable for mixed-use in ways most center consoles aren’t.

Resale data on Pursuit Sport models shows strong value retention in the 3-5 year window. The S358 is new enough that we don’t have long-term resale history, but the S328 and S378 have held value better than competitors like Grady-White and Boston Whaler in similar size classes. Maintenance costs are predictable with Yamaha power. Parts availability is excellent. The boat will depreciate, but it won’t collapse. Budget $40,000 to $50,000 annually for fuel, maintenance, storage, and insurance if you’re running 100 hours per season. That’s the reality of ownership at this level.
