“THE APEX PREDATOR OF THE SANDBAR.”

The 420 Outrage isn’t just a boat; it’s a statement. It’s built for the owner who wants the absolute best in safety and stability without moving into a custom sportfish.

The Minted Analysis: With the quad-engine setup, you’re getting serious redundancy and massive low-end torque. The bow lounge is, in my opinion, the best-engineered social space on any production boat under 50 feet.

Word of Warning: It’s a 22,000lb beast. It doesn’t ‘zip’ like a Valhalla or a Yellowfin. It’s a heavy-displacement stable machine that happens to have quad outboards. If you want raw speed, look elsewhere. If you want a fortress at sea, this is it.”

Our Take

The Y80 represents Princess at the top of their game. The optional 2,000 hp MANs deliver legitimate 35-knot performance in a hull that tracks like a much smaller boat. Sleipner stabilizers keep the ride flat in beam seas. The in-house build quality is evident in the fit and finish. This is not a boat that will nickel-and-dime you with warranty claims in year two. The engineering is sound. The systems are proven. Princess has been building boats in Plymouth for decades, and that institutional knowledge shows in how this boat is put together.

The Y80 is for the owner who plans to use the boat, not pose with it. If your cruising profile includes 300-mile runs and month-long trips, the layout makes sense. Four real staterooms, all en suite. A galley that functions for extended cruising. Outdoor spaces that accommodate 20 people without feeling crowded. The boat is manageable for an experienced owner-operator but has proper crew quarters if you want to bring a captain and stew. It is not a boat for the buyer who logs 20 hours a year and never leaves the Intracoastal.

Resale on Princess holds better than most builders in this class. The brand has a loyal following, and the in-house manufacturing reduces the risk of orphaned systems or discontinued components. Maintenance costs are predictable. Parts availability is strong. If you are comparing the Y80 to a Sunseeker 88 or Azimut Grande 26M, factor in the long-term ownership equation. The Princess will cost less to maintain and hold value better when it is time to sell. That is not marketing talk. That is 15 years of watching these boats trade hands.
