The PC74 is Taiwanese build quality applied to a Florida charter-market brief. Horizon has been laying up composite cats for over a decade, and it shows. The hull laminate is hand-laid, the engineering is conservative, and the systems are accessible. The twin CAT C18s are bulletproof. The ride is flat. The boat does what it says it will do. No surprises.

This boat is for the owner who has already figured out that beam matters more than length. If you’re still chasing the sportfish aesthetic or you think a cat is a compromise, this isn’t your boat. But if you want four real guest cabins, a full-beam master, and the ability to cross to the islands without your guests turning green, the PC74 is the answer. It’s also the right boat if you’re considering crew but haven’t committed. The layout supports both owner-op and crewed operation without forcing the decision.

Resale on Horizon cats has been stable because the brand isn’t chasing fashion. Buyers looking at pre-owned PC74s are looking at condition, hours, and maintenance records. The charter market provides a floor for resale values. If you maintain the boat properly and keep hours reasonable, you’ll find a buyer. Operating costs are real—,000 to ,000 annually owner-op, double that with crew—but the boat can charter if you’re willing to put it into a program. It’s not a moneymaker, but it’s not a pure expense either. The PC74 is a tool, not a trophy.
