“
The PC60 is one of the better-executed production power catamarans in the 60-foot range. Horizon builds a solid composite hull in Taiwan, and the fit and finish is consistent across the fleet. The twin Cummins engines are reliable, the systems are accessible, and the ride quality in moderate seas is noticeably better than a comparable monohull. The MAN engine upgrade is worth considering if you plan to cruise at 20 knots regularly, but the standard Cummins setup is more than adequate for most owners. The enclosed flybridge is a smart design choice for tropical cruising, and the Portuguese deck option improves deck access without adding complexity.
This boat is for the experienced owner who wants to run their own vessel and values range over speed. If you are planning to cruise the Bahamas or the Caribbean for extended periods, the PC60 gives you the fuel capacity and stability to skip crowded marinas and anchor out for weeks at a time. It is not the boat for someone who wants to impress at the dock or run 30 knots to lunch. It is the boat for someone who wants to be self-sufficient and comfortable in a variety of conditions. The layout options are well thought out, and the On-Deck Master configuration is the better choice for couples who plan to cruise without guests.
Resale on the PC60 is steady but not strong. Horizon is not a well-known brand in the U.S. market, and power catamarans are still a niche segment. Buyers who understand the advantages of a twin-hull design will pay fair market value, but you are not going to see appreciation. Maintenance costs are predictable if you stay on top of the engines and running gear, and the composite hull requires less long-term work than fiberglass. The boat holds up well in charter service, which tells you something about the build quality. If you are buying this boat to cruise for five to ten years and then sell, expect to take a 30 to 40 percent hit on depreciation, which is in line with most production cats in this size range.”
